WHAT IS FOREST BATHING?
We've all experienced the benefits of being in nature. Sounds of Nature in the forest, the presence of trees, rays of sunshine passing through leaves, fresh non-polluted air. All these elements contribute to our well- being.
They lower our stress levels and worries, support a deeply relaxed state of mind and guide us towards clearer ideas. The direct benefits of a FOREST BATHING session include a stronger immune system, increased energy levels, reduced anxiety, depression and anger, lowered stress levels and promote an enhanced quality in our sleep.
Studies also show that a session can significantly prevent symptoms and diseases linked to chronic stress such as:
- Low immune system
- Back, neck and shoulder pain
- Autonomous nervous system disorders
- Weight disorders
- Sleep disorders
- Depressions and burnouts
- Stomach pain and digestive disorders
- Cardiovascular diseases
- Cancer risks
Karen is a passionate forest guide and expert in her field, certified by Peter WOHLLEBENS WALDAKADEMIE . Single mother of 2 and graduated educator since 2003, she has a particular interest in oriental philosophy and spirituality.
Indeed, Karen was deeply touched by her trip to Japan at the age of 19, and the discovery of Shintoism.
In addition, she studied Chinese medicine, practiced Tai-chi and Qi-gong for 20 years, Eurythmy and Meditation since her childhood.
In 2016, she experienced an intense burnout, which she had to overcome by doing a lot of her own research to get back on her feet physically. It is in this context that she became a certified teacher of "facial yoga" in 2017, certified by the famous Fumiko TAKATSU.
Moreover, this delicate period was an opportunity for her to return to her roots, and particularly to the education received in her childhood at the « Waldorf » school. This private international school created by the German philosopher Rudolf STEINER, practices an education close to nature.
To heal from her burn out, Karen spent most of her time outdoors, in the forest, where she felt serene and protected.
So much so that one day she realized that FOREST BATHING is, in fact, the perfect way to help others make meaningful changes in their lives and to show them the incredible benefits of nature.
